CSU masters to UC PhD

<p>hey folks,</p>

<p>I'm a new EE grad student at one of the cal state universities. I'm thinking of eventually applying for some UC PhD programs after I complete my masters.</p>

<p>Does anyone know if it's actually possible to get into any UC EE PhD programs with a M.S. from a CSU? I guess cal states don't have many research opportunities, so I'm wondering if an M.S. from a CSU is looked down upon by the UCs.</p>

<p>The UC’s will care more about how well you did (i.e. your grades) than where you went. My son’s engineering PhD advisor did his BS and MS at a CSU, and then got his PhD at a UC. And one of my son’s research partners similarly got their MS at a CSU and transferred to UCLA for the PhD.</p>
