CSU northridge vs. CSU long beach engineer program.

Hi there, I got accepted to both of the CSU for mechanical engineer. Im wondering about which school is easier to get an internship for engineer and which program are better.

my question would be out of topic, but, i also applied as an ME major to csulb and i am currently on the waitlist. may i ask what your gpa is?

3.2 GPA. Are you a transfer?

yeah, i applied for spring and got into waitlist. im currently finishing physics 2 and chem so that’s probably the reason why i got into waitlist.

I don’t know anything about Northridge’s engineering program because we didn’t visit that campus, but we paid a visit to Long Beach and were extremely impressed with their program.

We visited last year during Spring Break and tried to get into one of the tours, but they were full months before the visit. The admissions office is/was very busy so they gave us a campus map and directed us to the engineering buildings.

We walked into the Computer Engineering department first, and were surprised that the staff was so accommodating and they set up a meeting with the department chair. (We were from out of town, and arrived early, so maybe that had something to do with it?) The Chair informed us that Boeing was on campus, leasing land on campus, and used student interns to work on projects. Students were steps away from the department.

We then went to the Engineering department, we got lost the first time, and spoke to an engineering advisor who laid out the coursework and spoke about work, tutoring opportunities etc. But he did mention that getting into the major was difficult since they were impacted. Long Beach is a short commute from all of those Redondo Beach defense, biotech and aerospace industries: Northrop Grumman, BAE, Global Atomics, Lockheed, etc.

You may want to ask a Northridge student about their interning and work opportunities.

I know some excellent graduates from Long Beach.
