CSU to CC to UC

I am planning on transferring to a UC after the school year 2015-2016 in order to pursue a career in Biomedical Engineering. Sadly, CSUF does not offer this major. I am currently a Biology major. I would like to know what are the requirements in order to transfer. So far, I have taken the following classes:

  • MATH 150B Calculus II
  • DANCE 101 Introduction to Dance
  • ENGLISH 101 Beginning College Writing
  • BIO 171 Evolution/Biodiversity
  • BIO 172 Cellular Basis of Life
  • CHEM 120A General Chemistry
  • HCOM 100 Intro to Human Comm
  • WGST 100 Intro to Gender Studies

I also passed two AP tests which are Macroecomics and Calculus I.

All in all, I have 36 units including the AP tests.
GPA: 3.59

I am still attending Fall 2015 semester in CSUF. Should I just take GE classes? Also, is it still possible to transfer to a CC and be considered a CC applicant?

If you complete 30 CC units, you are considered a CC transfer.

However, since you are coming from a 4 year school, you need to be wary of unit maximums.

Luckie is right about unit max, but it looks like they are all lower division, with the possible exception of the two bio classes (?). So, yeah, it should be doable. Just don’t take any more upper division at CSUF.

And yeah GE is good. But why not just drop out now and switch to a CCC?
