@chustino Have you heard anything yet?
Wow… I can’t believe it’s been 2 weeks since the deadline to make a deposit for other cal states and CSUF is taking so long to respond with a waitlist decision
@veryworriedmama waitlist decisions being released into late march and even early june is not uncommon. CSUF has to make sure they have room in their incoming class and admit people from the waitlist according to that. if someone who has been admitted off the waitlist declines, the next person in the waitlist will be offered admission and so on. how fast you receive a decision depends on your placement on the waitlist and how many people accept/decline their admission. if your placement is lower than others, it may take a while to hear back. be patient! wherever you go to college, you will be happy as long as you make the most out of it!
Anyone heard anything from CSUF recently? Still waiting to hear back about the waitlist, but under the Admissions category on my Student Center page, a link will pop up every so often titled “Early Start”. Any speculation as to what this means?
@tentaclethrpst Early start means that the student needs to take an English or Math class over the summer because they didn’t meet the required SAT/ACT score. It was on my daughter’s page before she got off the wait list, but now it is gone. I think she needs to do Early Start for math though.
I’m still on the waitlist but also noticed the early start link, it says I’m restricted from signing up for early start program in math? What does this mean
calbound24 Early start means that the student needs to take an English or Math class over the summer because they didn’t meet the required SAT/ACT score. You can’t sign up until you’ve been accepted. We got our decision soon after that showed up on my daughter’s page.
@Anxious27 thank you so much
My daughter has been getting the Early Start link for the last few weeks (it’s there one minute then gone the next) and is still on the waitlist. It says “You are not required to participate in the Early Start Program for Math.” It says the same for English as well. Crossing fingers for all of us to hear some good news soon!!
@shaswizzle Thank you for the info. My sons first choice is CSUF, and being that I’m an alumni it would be awesome if he did get off the waitlist. Yes you are right, patience is key. But will he be late for housing and such?
@tentaclethrpst @calbound24 my son has that early start link too and he is on the waitlist. It was there and it disappeared and now it’s back.
@veryworried the priority housing deadline is may 16th so if your son is admitted before then, he can sign up for priority housing. if not, then you can still sign up but a room is not a guarantee. you may have to look for apartments nearby.
I called Admissions today and they said that they can pull someone from the waitlist up until school starts. However, she told me if I don’t get off the waitlist by the end of this week the chances of getting admitted to CSUF are slim and I should consider other options.
@itsmebutterfly did they say how often they pull names from the waitlist?
@itsmebutterfly do you have other options?
They couldn’t give me details about the waitlist. I do have other options but CSUF was my first choice.
Spoke with someone today and they said they are removing people from the waitlist this week… so we should have our answers soon
@itsmebutterfly what other schools have you been accepted to? CSUF is also my sons first choice
I didn’t apply to many. I got into SDSU and SFSU. I’m considering going to a CC and transfering to CSUF if I don’t make it off the waitlist.
@veryworriedmama What does that mean “removing” people off the waitlist?
