So I just applied to CSULB Fall 2016.
My stats: 38 units completed, 13 in progress, and another 13 units for spring.
My GPA is 3.66.
Major: Marketing
I completed my golden four class already. I still have to take a require computer class and another math class but that will be completed by spring 2016. What are my chances of being accepted?
Do I have to complete all of the classes that was assigned on assist.org before applying? I will complete everything by spring of 2016. What are my chances? please respond!
I also applied for F2016 @ CSULB and CSULA and Fullerton
My stats are: 46 units completed, with 3 in progress and 11-14 units to be completed in the spring.
My GPA is: 3.51 but will be 3.61 with ADP bump
Major: Psychology
My math is not completed yet for golden four. It will be completed in the Spring and I still have
one major prep aside from the Math that needs to be completed in the Spring.
I am currently in southern California, but not considered in “the service area” because I fall right out of it.
I would say the fact that you have your golden 4 completed helps you, and if you get an ADT bump that will put your GPA at 3.76 which is well over an A average for all completed college work. I would say you’re rather competitive myself, although I know that marketing and business majors at CSULB are pretty badly impacted.
I would say although you still have 2 major preps to finish, it would not drastically hurt you: or from what I have read on this forum. They are really looking for GPA and golden four “with consideration math” (so I’ve heard). It makes you more competitive to have already applied with those things completed, and your GPA is high. You are also considered a California resident. You should be pretty good to go. Hopefully we can get some insight from some other members on the forum? I’m also a little concerned about my chances. I got B’s in all the other golden four courses. I’ve still got my work cut out for me before I transfer myself as well. I’m really just hoping I get that email come February with a sigh of relief.
Thanks for answering my thread!
It is so interesting how we just input our GPA on csu mentor. However, your GPA is still competitive due to the fact that you have a 3.51. I will finish all of my classes by the end of spring 2016. I got 2 A’s and 2 B’s on my golden four so I don’t know if that would impact me. My friend got into CSULB last year, and he completed one of his golden four by spring of 2015.
You’re welcome. It sucks there hasn’t been anyone else posting lately.
I agree, I didn’t even know CSUs only looked at GPA, I did honors and all these extracurriculars and
to find out they only really care about location and GPA really made me upset. But it is what it is I guess.
I’ve gotten B’s in all of my golden fours, and still need to complete math, of course.
I had a friend of mine who also got accepted with a 3.3 for political science without math completed.
But I think they really pay attention to major prep courses and how you’re on track for them.
I would (assume) as long as you’re ‘listing’ those courses in progress they’ll most definitely consider you.
Especially because your GPA is so high.
Major: Child Development (transferring with AA in Liberal Arts, super impacted!!)
GPA: 3.0
Golden Four: 2 completed, other 2 will bed done Spring 2016. So ALL will be done by Spring 2016.
I have 33 units completed to this day, 13.5 this fall semester, 6 units planned in the winter intersession & 21 units in the spring semester (most online).
3.32 GPA
Psychology AAT
Golden 4 … 2 Cs one A and one A IP
4.0 at my current school, old old grades screwed my GPA
If you don’t apply you will never know…
Major: Business Admin (either Marketing or Finance)
GPA: 3.4 (overall) 3.6 (in transferable courses) 3.7 (with ADT bump)
Golden 4: C in Freshman Comp, A in Philosophy, Stats IP, Eng 102 next year
CC: Outside of Long Beach local area in San Bernardino
My question is this… With the ADT, it specifically states that we are guaranteed admission to a CSU - obviously not a specific one, right? So what happens if we are rejected from the ones we applied to? I spoke briefly to a counselor and her response was that “they” may just send you to any one with room if you don’t get in. Does anyone know any further details on that?
HI.
I’M FREAKING OUT.
I applied to Long Beach for fall 2014, didn’t get in, attended Chico State, dropped out and went to a community college.
Now I’m transferring for Fall 2016.
My GPA,not including Chico State grades, JUST community college classes is 3.8. With Chico state, it’s around 3.5, which makes me wish I would have originally attended community : /
Stats
GPA - 3.5
Major - Communications
Currently in 15 units, 11 planned for Spring.
Entire CSUGE Breadth completed by spring 2016. Literally only two classes left - > Math, and science lab. I have to get 10 credits next semester, so I need to figure out random transferable classes to take.
2 A’s in Golden Four, currently taking Oral Comm class, hoping for an A. Probably will receive a B in math next semester. And I’ll have to work my ass off for that B lmao
Currently in all major required classes. I’m literally in 5 comm classes this semester!!!
Current worries are regarding GPA and taking math next semester. I am extremely afraid for my math class. I’m on Rate my professor trying to find the easiest teacher lmao
I’M Just so afraid because I’ve already been rejected once : /
Major: Human Development
GPA: 3.49
Golden 4: Finished by end of Winter 2016
No AA-T / AS-T
55 quarter units so far (not including ones in progress), but will have 90+ by Spring 2015.
I am worried because I am not local as I am from the Bay Area. However, I’m also applying to CSU Northridge, Sonoma, Chico, and Fresno.
Major: Psychology
GPA: 3.1 (current)
Golden 4: Completed since Summer 2015
AA-T by Spring 2016
I’m almost finished with my major requirements–all I need is Psychology 10 and Biology 03.
I’m just a little worried about my chances of getting into this school since I screwed up my first year in community college…
Major: Communication Studies
GPA: 3.69
Golden 4: 3 out of 4 completed.
AA-T in progress.
Will CSU Long Beach reject me if I don’t have one Golden Four requirement (which is Math) but am an Upper Division transfer with a good gpa and will obtain an AA-T by the summer term prior to transfer?
I mean, if I don’t complete the Golden Four requirement by the end of spring term prior to transfer, will I be rejected, but will complete it by summer term and have an AA-T degree as well?
I read something on their website regarding the AST. It said:
“The Community College must certify that you are on-track to complete the Transfer AA or AS degree prior to the term you are applying to enter CSULB. This means the Transfer AA or AS must be completed no later than the prior Summer for Fall Admission and no later than the prior Fall term for Spring admission.”
So that means it’s okay to complete any remaining requirements by the summer for Fall 2016…right?
Hey guys, how is everything coming along with your supplemental applications?
I submitted mine and included my Winter classes. I called enrollment services and apparently you can include your Winter classes on your supplemental application as long as they are displayed on your official transcript by the time transcripts are due. These are my supplemental stats:
Major: Japanese (hoping to double major when I transfer!)
GPA:3.27
AA-T/AS-T?: Nope
Pre-reqs: all but last japanese class, in now
Golden 4:Need Statistics, finishing it this semester!
SD Area?:Yep, I attend grossmont
Major: Business Operations and Supply Chain Management( I don’t think it’s highly impacted)
GPA: 3.22 with over 75 transferable units, I know only up to 70 are accepted
AS-T: Summer 2016
Major Pre-reqs: Required will be done by Spring, recommended classes 1 left in summer.
Golden 4: Completed Fall 2015
Nervice. Hoping to be accepted soon!
I saw some posts from the previous fall class where people heard in early February.
