So If I went to long beach I’d be majoring in Business marketing and minoring in graphic design, but I’ve also been thinking about doing community college then transferring to Berkeley to do marketing or transferring to UCLA to major in graphic design. I’m kinda torn and need a little help.
In ordinary times I’d stay stick with the 4-year college. Many kids who initially have some doubts about where they are headed end up loving the place after they get settled into their major, get to know some profs, make friends, etc. However this is no ordinary year. CSU has already announced the Fall term will mostly be online so it will be harder to have the ordinary 1st year college experience. Which means you’d give up less to attend a CC.
What to do is a tough decision. You should look at what the CCs in your area offer compared to what you’d be taking if you went to CSULB. And check with CSULB to see how hard it is to xfer into the program you’ve been accepted for to see the chances you lose what you already have.
It isn’t realistic to say “I’m going to xfer to Cal or UCLA” and assume it will happen just because one wants that path. According to https://www.admission.ucla.edu/prospect/adm_tr/Tr_Prof19_mjr.htm UCLA had 267 applicants for Fall 2019 and accepted 16 for the Design/Media Arts major. Cal is probably just as hard. There is no way anyone can tell you the right choice, you have to consider that you might end up not being able to get into Cal or UCLA and you’d miss out on the 4-year experience of a student at LB.
Yeah im really not sure ://
