Hello! I am really excited to say that I am interested in
the child development major !

I have recently researched and found a lot of useful
information on becoming a child psychologist!

I always wondered why psychology was such a popular
major and wondered if I should try it out too!

But ! more than anything, i love working with infants and
toddlers!

I would love to find out more about CSULB and if they have
a career goal/plan for those who want to become a child
psychologist?

Should I be majoring in Child Development and Psychology?

Correct me if I’m wrong, but don’t you need a PHD or MD to be a psychologist?

I think you should double major. They both are majors that would help you with your future goal.

@The Power of One:

I would definately be pursuing a PhD later in life if this is the career
I want to go into!

Hmm, what do you think if the college I want to go to has a Psychology
degree but no majors whatsoever on child development?

Psychology is definitely the main degree out of the two. I’m sure you can focus on a children specialty once you have a gained background degree in psychology first.

@The Power of One:

I don’t mind getting a PhD laterrrr in life hah! maybe thinking up to a masters for now.

I was also wondering, what if i get a bachelors in psychology and (if they don’t have child dev.) I will take some related courses on the side.

and I was wondering, I like the idea of getting a masters in nutrition?!

So be like a mix of child dev/psychology minded children’s nutritionist?

Online research says you can have any majore and still get the license and masters in nutrition?

Too many people get psychology degrees… and not many people do anything with it do they?
