So I logged on to the roommate selection today, and it's really hard to pick a roommate from the profiles. I thought that maybe we could use this thread to get to know potential roommates a little bit better, because I don't want to pick my roommate based on what time she wakes up in the morning.

I'll start - My name is Asia, and I'm going to be a freshman. I went to high school in Canada and moved here last year. I live in Corona right now, so I'm still unfamiliar with the Long Beach area. I applied undeclared, but I want to major in studio art or illustration. My hobbies include drawing, painting, and reading. If you want to know more you can send me a message.

Good luck to everyone on their roommate selection. :)

I’m not dorming there, but I’m curious to know what other stuff they ask you when providing criteria for looking for a roommate (besides the time they wake up xD).

They ask very boring things.

Like I said, they asked what time I go to bed and wake up. They asked if I’m interested in sororities/fraternities, sports, academics, and the environment. And all of those were just yes or no, they didn’t even let me elaborate. They also asked what type of music I listen to, if I smoke, and how tidy I like my room. And that was it.

They didn’t ask about hobbies or interests or majors. Which if you ask me, is pretty important, because I want my roommate to be my friend, not just my roommate.

Oh well, at least they don’t just randomly assign us.

Yeah I think it is helpful to dorm with someone who has the same major as you. That way you guys can share books and cram for tests together. xD
