Okay, so first off i “conditionally” was admitted to both CSULB AND SJSU for fall 2017,as long as I keep my grades up. I’m currently at San Diego Mesa College and my biggest concern is that I might have input the wrong transferable GPA instead of putting 2.72 I put 2.74. At the transfer office they had told me to be careful with not even remotely adding .1 or .01 to your GPA. Well, I didn’t do it purposely and now i don’t know if they’ll decline the offer they already gave me. Plus, I have one F in my transcript because of one class last semester! I hate Anthropology with a passion. Anyways, I totaled up my GPA and transferable units and I’ll end up with 62 units and about a 2.74-2.81 GPA. I have about 2-3 W’s in my transcript. Here’s my other situation, I decided to retake that class this semester again and it’s just too many units for me. I have 6 classes right now and I’m doing well in the other 5 but in anthropology I have a feeling I’ll fail again. I have until 4/14 to withdraw the class and walk away with a W. what should I do with that? Will one F damage my admission to CSULB?
I didn’t talk about SJSU because I’m not willing to move that far away from home. I’m too attached to SD. Lol
please leave a comment and let me know what you think! (: *
Btw I’m perusing a Spanish BA so I’m hoping they don’t end up taking back their offer of admit. I was looking through their website and all that is needed for a Spanish BA as a transfer is a 2.0 GPA and the golden 4 to be completed. I’m just praying they don’t take back their offer since I already was stupid enough to pay the $283 for the housing deposit.
Please, please get back to me with any recommendations. Should I try to contact the admissions office and tell them about my mistake? Or should I wait and see what happens? I have an appointment on Monday to meet with my EOPS counselor so I’m hoping he’ll also help me figure this thing out
Hey, I’m in a really similar situation taking 6 classes, have a 2.7 GPA, 60 credits, but I’ll actually be getting all A’s this semester. If you want to know my honest opinion, what you should really do is suck it up and just try and get at least a B in your Anthropology course. Unless you are absolutely POSITIVE, you are going to fail or a D, then in that case you should withdraw. I’m a little confused though, because that would put you under 60 credits and would mean you would not have your AA. As far as the GPA miscalculation, I don’t really think it would matter.
Sorry I made it confusing. So with the Anthro class my completed units would be 65 and without it it would be 62. I was just taking it because I thought I would be able to get at least a C in that class. Which I think I already messed up my possibility because I haven’t been doing good on my quizzes and exams. I already emailed my professor to ask her if I should stay in her class with what I have now. I asked her if it was possible that I can redeem myself. I’m shooting for at least a C in that class and my GPA would boost up to a 2.9 by the end of the spring semester.
If you think it’s going to be anything under a C then you should withdraw or maybe you could work out something with your professor for extra credit? I’m pretty sure a W looks better than a D. @penguinlover96
