CSULB vs. SDSU vs. Cal Poly SLO - Physics

I've gotten into all three of these schools as a transfer. But now I'm torn between all of them. I'm majoring in physics and plan on going into education teaching high school science.

I love the Southern California feel, which is why I'm extremely attracted to CSULB and SDSU. although, everyone keeps telling me I need to go to Cal Poly SLO.

Could anyone give me some insight on either of these schools, local atmosphere, academics, social life etc?

Well, my first question is why didn’t you apply to UC’s? My second question is why didn’t you apply to Cal Poly Pomona if you love So Cal?

You will have a good social life at either but you will reap more rewards going to Cal Poly SLO than the other two after you graduate.

Cal Poly SLO is the most prestigous of the three but it was established, along with CPP, principaly to train engineers while the other CSUs were created to train teachers. Therefore, along with your BS in Physics, you also need to determine which school will have the best Education courses to get the credentials required to teach science at the high school level in California.

According to the Cal Poly SLO career survey, for 2010-2011, 13 out of 25 physics graduates went to post-graduate study. Of these, 4 stayed at SLO for a teaching credential program, 3 went elsewhere for physics PhD programs, and 2 stayed at SLO for an aerospace engineering MS program.
