Csulb??

so I'm thinking about transferring to CSU Long Beach or maybe SDSU in the spring from the community college I am currently at. Or basically any other good CSU college that isn't too expensive, I'm not from around there so I'll be paying the out of state tuition :/

I am just wondering what is the overall scene like at CSU Long Beach? I've heard a lot of students commute there but I know there are still a lot that don't. So what I'm basically wondering how is the night life and social scene?? I just don't want to get all the way out there and not enjoy myself at this school haha

CSULB has a very large student population. Yes, a majority commute. Many also live in dorms or apartments/condos around the school. Easiest way to make friends and meet people is in class and clubs and other events. Anything related to something you’re interested in, you’re bound to find someone else similar enough. And its always nice being close to the beach :)

I’ve come from inland southern california, which isn’t a huge difference, but difference enough, and I love csulb :P

yeaa i am debating whether to get an apartment out there this fall so i can apply as an in state resident, its soo much more money being out of state!! and i heard it’s hard to get into if your not local??

I’m not sure how long you have to be instate to be considered local by the college? And yes I believe it is harder, but it shouldn’t be anything extreme.

I’m gonna be paying out of state tuition too and I’ll be living on campus
It is a lot of money, but as I’ve been living here for a while during my senior year, I love long beach and the place is amazing

I will be living on campus for my first year to get used to the place. Just visited it today with my parents looking like a badass lol. Long Beach is definitely a diverse scene, it really is a part of L.A. Lots of attractive people. Toured the city some very nice areas and very ghetto areas, not use to it since I come from a much smaller urban area. Very overwhelmed, but I think it will be a nice place once settled in.
