My D is interested in a BS Degree in Apparel Design and Merchandising at SFSU but it is an impacted major. What is the process of getting into a major that is impacted?

Similar to applying for any other major check out your listed application dates on the school’s website, for SFSU that can be found here [Impacted Programs - How to Apply - Future Students - San Francisco State University](http://www.sfsu.edu/future/apply/impacted.html). Check under dates and deadlines which usually for fall application is in October, and spring admissions for impacted programs are usually closed. Check out the required prerequisites for your intended program as well as ge classes to transfer and get in program. You can check those out through assist.org, completing as many pre reqs and ge classes early as opposed to completing them at the CSU and then changing majors to Apparel Design or simply working on it there might raise chances of acceptance, and is advised when classes at times especially at SFSU for ge often times fill up fast and are hard to get, but core classes can be easier due to less competition for them. Last of course either on school’s website or csumentor.edu just the simple act of making an account and applying.

Thanks SOBERGONER I will have my D check out your link
