Allow a few days for the system to catch up to all of you. Then you will be able to login, pay your deposits, etc.
Meantime check out “Housing and Dining” for dorm descriptions. View the campus maps to determine the best
locations for your major and course classes. The best housing locations go to the “early birds” so know where
you want to living your Freshman year. IF you are in a honors RAP’s they have designated locations.
Engineering has the Quad and Honors Engineering is in Kittredge, which has a separate application. The Campus
is over 600 acres so familiarize yourself with various location, where you will spend the greatest amount of time.

Williams Village (referred to as Wil Vill) is the high rise location, still on campus, but about 1+ mile south of main
campus. CU free Buses transport student to and from various locations. When you pay your fees, this is included
which also allows for discount travel to/from Denver airport with your student ID.

Good luck to All of you!

I see a surprising range of GPAs and test scores. Plus more people are getting scholarships than I would have expected.

To what extent does CU look at more than just GPAs and test scores?

Are standards higher for in-state students?

What might CU be looking for among out-of-state students which might give them an edge over in-state kids? Obviously out-of-state kids who pay full out-of-state tuition bring something economically to the school, but what about those who get hefty scholarships?

I’m just curious. I have grandkids in high school. Some in state and some not. I’m just curious about their chances to get in.

Accepted with $25,000 scholarship and the college of arts and sciences honors program!

My impression is that with a big state school like CU, it really is mostly dependent on scores and GPA. That said, CU has a pretty high acceptance rate–I’ve seen 77% acceptance and even higher listed on various sites. I can tell you the average kid accepted to CU from our high school in Fairfield County, CT had a 3.2 GPA and 28 ACT, according to Naviance. Last year 22 kids applied from our high school and 18 got in, and those were the average stats. The kids who are posting 3.8 and higher and 33 ACT are the kinds of kids that are getting the scholarships, but I don’t think those are necessarily the average stats for CU. Good luck!

Accepted: College of Media, Communication & Information, Journalism program
OOS NY
GPA: 3.34
R/W: 620
M: 530

D accepted honors program with $25,000. OOS , 32 ACT, 3.88 (weighted), all AP and/or honors classes. Many community service awards both internal and external, though I don’t think this school highlights community service achievements like others do. We thought we were decided on Tulane, and honestly gave up on waiting for this answer, but now coming out in March before final decision.

Does anyone know of engineering students are considered for the honors program for Arts and Sciences? Or should I just apply for engineering honors

I’m pretty sure engineering honors students would be only through the engineering school, unless you were a double major.

I think the range in stats has a lot to do with which school you are applying to. I am seeing some really high stats for those of you that applied to engineering.

We toured CU this summer and the scores for engineering where the highest, followed by business. But the scores on this website are a lot higher than what we saw during our admissions overview.

My son is torn between engineering and business, but he is a junior so he has time.

Those of you that are getting into engineering, are you also applying to some top private colleges with those impressive stats? Some of them are truly need blind and meet full demonstrated need, so just wondering if you have considered some privates as well?

@collegemomjam Yes. And imo if CU-Boulder wants the high stat kids to come, they need to offer more than $6250 per year. In fact, its kind of annoying to see those with “Presidential” awards having stats far lower than those getting “Chancellors”.

3.98 uw
35 ACT
State and National level awards in Athletics; also volunteering and STEM activities
Waiting on 4 more decisions from West Coast schools

@sunnyschool I feel the same way. I would totally be going to Boulder if they had given me a similar amount of money Colo State is; however, I understand Boulder is more popular than CSU.

@isaac74 - $6250/yr is peanuts, especially when the tuition probably increases each year…and with little/no availability of campus housing after freshman year. I hope more scholarship $ is forthcoming from College of Engineering for “top scholars” as the letter calls this first round.
