should have said CU’s “Pre-Business program” is part of the exploratory studies
Especially with estimated $58K costs for out of state students. With direct admit maybe, but cant roll the dice at that price…
Yes, my son was accepted into the University but was offered Exploratory Studies instead of his intended major (Business). For this reason we are going to pass on CU Boulder. He was offered pre-Business at University of Denver and direct admit into Business at several other schools so it seems like there is no reason for him to attend Boulder and spend his first year “exploring” if he already has a particular path in mind. I would worry that even if he received good grades his first year and then applied to Leeds down the road, they might not even have room for him in the program.
I know Leeds is more well known, but is the business school at CSU very good if heart is set on going to college in Colorado?
Good question - we are also considering CSU. My son is also very interested in attending school in Colorado (we’re from Los Angeles). Planning to tour CSU and DU in early March
My son visited both campuses this summer, and frankly liked CSU atmosphere better. I lived in Boulder for 5 years and love that city. That being said, CSU admitted my son directly in to business school and not exploratory studies which is a big disappointment and actually makes the decision easier if he wants to go to college in CO.
Last year my DD was directly admitted to CSU business school, which is a very good school and she also liked CSU atmosphere better than CU. But at the end she enrolled at Bentley University, a small 4 year all business university in MA. If you research Bentley University do not be scared off by the ‘sticker price”, they give out very good merit scholarships.
In 2020 my oldest kiddo was accepted Pre-Engineering, but about 4 weeks later he received an email saying he was accepted to Engineering after being re-evaluated. I don’t know that this happens often, but it did happen for him. I assume when kiddos withdraw their application to go to another school, there may be a few that they bump up, or they may have taken into account mid-year grades that had been reported. I am not sure.
Are those who have received decisions only EA or are some you regular decision as well?
Only EA at this time.
Do you think regular decision will come out right on April 1 or will it be earlier?
I think last year regular decision came a few days before April 1 but it might be on the 1st because they tend to send them out end of business day on Friday

Anyone see a breakdown of any aid offered?
I still can’t find a breakdown of aid
@CC_Joy for some reason this thread isn’t appearing when looking at CU Boulder threads…
Anyhow, for those looking for the financial aid offer, I wrote to finaid and they told me the offer will come about a week after being accepted.
