Hello. my daughter is a HS student in Colorado and wonder which school, CU Boulder or CU Denver, will be better for her premed years if she studies Integrative Physiology after High School graduation?
I heard that CU Boulder grades much harder than CU Denver. Is it true?
Also, I just read that CU Boulder offers Master degree to qualified graduates in Integrative Physiology, when CU Denver does not…, and Anschutz Medical campus offers a PhD program in that field Is that so?
CU Boulder is a solid premed choice. I wish they had better advising, but it’s good enough if you understand the med school application process. I would email CU Denver’s premed advisors and ask how many students are accepted to Anschutz. That’s a good metric of success. fwiw, I don’t know any doctors that graduated from CU Denver.
That’s probably true. CU Boulder has a few weed out type classes that can be very tough on the premed GPA. I think CU Boulder is rigorous enough for premed, but not overly difficult.
You would need to check out their websites for this type of detail. The grad degrees won’t impact med school applications, but might be important if your daughter decides med school isn’t for her.
You might want to check out the U of Arizona because they have very attractive merit scholarships for out of state students and I would consider the premed track equal to CU Boulder. Might as well save that money for med school…
