CUNY Admissions

Hey there!

So I’m in a really crummy position because I’ve basically been planning the past 6 months of my life to stay in the city at home with my mom and go to community college. I applied to CUNY and submitted my application for the fall semester in October and paid shortly thereafter. My college advisor assured me she would send in my SAT scores after that. I waited and waited for acceptances and none. I logged into CUNY portal AFTER the February 1st deadline to find out that they had not received my scores and could not review my application for a bachelor’s degree program. I sent them in as soon as I found out and they received them but after the February 1st deadline.

I’m crushed right now as I do not want to fall behind on my college plan nor do I want to be thrust into any of my farther away schools that I was accepted to . I’m not ready financially, mentally or physically. Everyone else in my school has heard back from CUNY and I haven’t. Will my application be considered now before I have to make a decision or have I missed the opportunity to get into the schools of my choice? (I applied to Baruch hunter Lehman and a few others) HELP!!!

I would speak to the head of guidance at your school and ask the school to contact CUNY admissions and discuss the situation. Since it was the school’s error, the school should try to rectify it. If that doesn’t work, apply to one of the CUNY CC’s and attend there for a semester or two to do your gen eds and then transfer into the CUNY of your choice.

I am not really sure about part of your post since you refer to attending community college in the fall, but none of the CUNY’s you list are community colleges; they are all 4 years. CUNY CC’s include Queensborough and BMCC.

UPDATE: accepted into all schools will be attending hunter in the fall. its taking a little longer than I’d like but it’ll happen soon. Thank you techmom for your help

@mxochris - I’m not sure what I did, but I thank you for the shout out. Hunter is a great school, make the most of your time there.
