So I’m transferring from Hunter college to either queens or york to finish up my bachelors degree in Biochemistry and I’m torn. I’m wondering if anyone has any insight into how the academics are for bio/chem in both colleges. Is queens harder than york or vice versa? I know campus wise, queens has it better as well as socially but I’m really more concerned about which school is harder academically, if its a fight to get classes, how the labs are, etc. One thing I hated about hunter is when I was able to find time to stay a little later to study in the library, THERE WAs NEVER ANY SPACE. If you were lucky to find a spot, good luck finding a plug nearby for your dying laptop. I’m also concerned about parking since I will be driving to school (which is the reason I’m transferring from Hunter because the LIRR was too much a month). To be honest, I found the science classes at hunter difficult, definitely not something you can’t study for and expect to breeze by, which was the problem for me working 2 jobs when a high gpa is something that’s a must if I expect to go on to a Physician’s Assistant program (which york has).
If anyone has any experience on either one, please let me know. It will definitely help in deciding where to go.
