I was rejected by Baruch and Hunter but was accepted to YORK College. MY GPA was 3.0 as an accounting major. Sadly, i didnt apply to brooklyn college and I really dont want to go to YORK college. Is it still possible to apply for brooklyn in person?

You can still apply to Brooklyn, but you won’t get any financial aid, since the FA deadline was about a week ago.

If you don’t wanna go to York, try applying to your local community college, and then transferring out after a year.

I think it might be due to the selectivity of Accounting major in Baruch; which im guessing should be the hardest since it’s their best major.

Yes, but the AVERAGE GPA for Baruch transfers is 3.21

State schools (which would include Baruch and Hunter and the rest of the CUNYS) are getting more selective.

What was your sat score

& does anyone know if this is true :
My friend said CUNYs ONLY look at your GPA & SAT no ECs or Transcript
True?

My SAT score wasnt that great, but my friend got in last year with a 3.0 gpa and terrible sat score. But i guess this year is harder because of people going back to school?

I am almost done with my AAS degree in Accounting at CityTech ( Last semester) and Citytech only have 2 year degree in accounting. Hopefully Ill get in brooklyn. What are my chances of getting in with a 3.0 GPA?

Sharon, no ECs, dont know what you mean by no transcript – they definitely check GPA. SATs can help if you can not demonstate college ready, but no required if over 30 credits.

^
the transcript as in like the rigor of your classes, since your transcript shows all your classes from freshmen year and what grade you got in them

Sharon, I suspect you are correct for transfers coming from 4 yr schools. I think all the cunys actually do their own admission, once the application is in the portal. I think places like Baruch and Hunter may look harder at CC applications, and see how many courses were really college level.

I’m talking about high school kids coming in as freshmens ( I’m a current junior)

Sharon, since we are on the transfer board, I assumed you meant transfers. Here is provile for freshman

[Freshman Admission Profile - Undergraduate Admissions - CUNY](http://www.cuny.edu/admissions/undergraduate/prepare/high-school-students/freshman-profile.html)

I think they do look at SATs for freshman.

Oops sorry I didn’t notice

Thats OK, I agree with your general point that the CUNYs do not take a holistic approach, do not look at ECs, strength of curriculum. They have huge numbers of applicants, and it is pretty much by the numbers.
