Curious

How much time do you spend studying material outside of class on regular weekdays? Just curious. I want an idea of how much free time people usually have every day.

I think it totally depends on your schedule

I agree. Generally the accepted practice is 2 to 3 hours of study for every hour in class, but that will vary based on the student's strengths, weaknesses, employment, travel time (to and from school if any), family, etc.

in addition. it also varies on how much you are WILLING to study and actually doing it. On average I study maybe like 1-2 hours a day for actual textbook-needed classes..but I'm not taking hard science courses, where it is critical to study to pass. I'm a DES major (made up of studio classes =4 hours a day, twice a week) and TXC minor...but on some nights I don't sleep when there is a project or a test the next day.

I was always good in high school about always doing my homework, studying, going to class (and on-time)..but once I hit college...I was so distracted and I had so much freedom that I didn't study as much as I should have. It was hard for me to accept that I was going to get a final grade as a C in these classes. But after a while, I realized that it took some MAJOR time getting used to the quarter system since it goes by so incredibly fast. And as I got used to the quarter system, my grades improved too.
