Hello everyone! wow college life is pretty different. I am working part time and going to school. I can barely pay for my tuition and books with the money I have left over from rent and food. I cant work full time because then I would have no time for homework or let alone a social life. How does everyone else survive?

I think that most full-time students don't work during the school year, or they find campus jobs that pay poorly and require few hours. Financial considerations are different for everyone, but at the average college, you could save perhaps $30,000 by not working during the year, taking a heavy courseload, and graduating a year early with loans; I can't imagine that many college students would make that much through part-time work.

I rencently graduated and was doing some research getting ready for college. I was looking for information on budgeting and jobs, etc. while in college. I found this website thats just for students, I found it to be a pretty good resource of info. its: www.studentfinancialguide.com. you should check it out. it helped me get ready for being on a college budget.

I really just need some budgeting advice. And maybe a way to find some scholarships also. And most of all how to handle my debts and income when I graduate. Taking out a student loan isn't really someting I can do right now. since I am still under 24 I have to have my parents financial information and they won't give it to me. so do you see now, why my situation isn't really as easy as "take out a loan"... I did find http://www.savingdimes.com and it had some good budgeting tips. do you know of any other places I could check for this type of info? You sound like you know what your talking about. Any other advice?

have you checked with privatebanks about loans in your name without a co-signer? Some of them will do it.

all the banks I have checked want the fafsa filled out. but they are big banks like wamu and boa. any other banks?
oh and whatever that site was that bandman posted is great! you guys should look at it. so much good stuff for students!
