Whatever that review was is all lies. Georgetown has a very good party scene in fact. We work hard, play hard- probably play too hard occasionally. Honestly, you will have no trouble at all finding a party to go to- you'll probably hit 4 in a night. Now for the heavy religious experience part- it is a Catholic school, you have expect some stuff. There are required theology classes that a regular college wouldn't have, but that doesn't really affect the environment that much. Outside of class, there is a larger than average Catholic population here, but that's to be expected. No one will try to force their beliefs on you or make you go to mass, but it can be nice to have a lot of your friends share your beliefs if you are Catholic.
Come for an overnight visit to see what Georgetown is really like. That's the best advice I can give you if you're going to believe crappy reviews like that.

I didn't say I believed the review--I even said it's contrary to everything else I've heard. And for people who haven't been able to visit, reviews are the one of the main information sources there are, so that's why I look at all of them!
I'm actually staying overnight at georgetown next wednesday night, in a week. I've never been to D.C. either before so I'm excited!

The Jesuits are awesome, by the way. :) I've taken my two theology requirements with the same professor and he's great.

I went to a science symposium for high school students at Georgetown in January. It was the first time I'd seen the campus, and I was very impressed. It's a shame it's in DC, otherwise I'd apply. ;)

Which night is bigger for parties, Thursdays or Fridays? I would assume Friday but a girl I talked to (from another college) said that Thursday and Saturday were big party nights because Saturday mornings lots of people had sports things and such. I'm going to GAAP and staying with a student that I sort of in a sense kind of know, and I don't want to ask to sleep there 2 nights, so I'll stay in a hotel the other, but I'm wondering which one I should stay on campus for.

Fridays, usually. Thursdays are more... clubbing days?

i have a really late birthday.. i wont turn 18 till december of my first year in college and 21 till my senior year.. will this hinder my ability to go out with friends at all?

..fake id?

Thursdays are traditionally big party days at schools with frats- not georgetown. Most people have class on Fridays so less people go out on Thursdays. Maybe I just have a skewed perspective because I have an 8:50 on friday mornings, but fridays are definitely bigger party days. Thursday also is more of a club night as tlaktan said.

If you want to go to clubs, you will have to be 18, but most people don't really go to clubs. You won't have any problem getting alcohol even though you won't be able to buy it, enough people have fakes or you'll meet older people. Once most of your friends are 21 and hang out in bars, you may not be able to go with them as much, but there's not a whole lot you can do about that except get your own fake.
