I know of 2 OOS students. Both are transferring out. How do you like it? How many got tripled up in a small dorm room? I know someone who got tripled in one of the smaller rooms, and does not even have a closet. She is folding her clothes on a shelf.

Hi northeastmom: I'm a mom from Pennsylvania and my dghtr applied to Towson as her safety. Luckily, she already got accepted with full tuition at another safety, so we can toss Towson without regret. Their acceptance letter sounded like it was written by a fifth grade kid. Their campus is pretty, and location outside of Baltimore is good. I hear their dance and music programs are excellent. Other than that, they are basically a commuter school with most kids leaving to go home on weekends. Academically, they are not even mentioned in most college books you find on the shelf at Barnes and Noble. Their health professions school of occupational therapy is a good one (I am an OT myself), and it does give good money for good students if that is an issue. Bottom line though, I don't believe its a great choice for out of state kids. Good luck with the process....

Caruth, thank you for your help. Actually, my son chose another school over Towson. I was just curious as to other student experiences (current students, esp. freshmen). I have a younger son, and this school is still on our list. I was alarmed by the housing shortage, and knowing 2 OOS students who are transferring out. I did not realize that many students are still leaving on weekends. Congratulations on your D's acceptance with full tuition scholarship elsewhere!
