I'm worried about how isolated Williams is.
I visited in the fall and it didnt bother me much seeing as there were like 5-6 parties going on that night, but still.
Is visiting Boston and New York City easy?
Do people do it often?
Do you even have time?

I'm only speaking from personal experience, so keep that in mind. Right now, I'm a sophomore, so I do have a car on campus. Thus far, I've only driven to Boston once to visit a friend at Harvard, and I've made the trip down to the NYC area several times, but mostly because of breaks (I live in NJ). Last year, as far as I can remember, I never once went to Boston and went to NYC only once. Based on what I've seen, I don't think going to NYC/Boston is a very common thing to do on the weekends. Typically, kids have too much on their hands as far as EC's, sports, studying, and other activities go. That's not to say one couldn't make time, though. It's just that kids don't often find the time/opportunity to leave campus, not to mention the fact that it's very hard to do so as a frosh (trains/buses are quite expensive).

You can't have a car as a freshman? That sucks, would it be possible to secretly have a car?

School policy is that freshmen can't have cars on campus. As far as "secretly" having a car on campus, I'm sure it's possible, but risky. I've heard stories of kids who've done that, but ended up with tons of parking tickets by the end of the year, and they're NOT cheap. Unless you know someone in area with whom you can make an arrangement or something along those lines, having a car really isn't that great of an idea. And don't be too put off by the fact that you can't have one. You really don't need to get around to that many places your freshman year, and your JA's will usually be able to provide transportation to places like Walmart at the beginning of the year.

well the only reason I would want to have a car is so that I can visit my gf (yea im a pussy) although I'm playing fball so I wouldn't really be able to go until the winter anyway.
