My favorites thing (things) are the collonades at UVA. But, since I’m a first year student and haven’t seen the “Lighting of the Lawn” at Christmas time nor celebrated the Burning of the Rotunda, I need more time to know what I’m talking about.
My least favorite thing is that my intro classes are too large and impersonal. I realize that comes with a public university, but I’ve just never experienced classes being so large. I’m talking about Bio and Gen Chem–but in both instances, I love my Professors! They are high quality and are very approachable during office hours. As I progress through this fine University, I know that classes will get smaller and more individualized.
Oh, and trick-or-treat on the Lawn is very cute with all the local kids dressed as goblins going from Lawn room to another looking for candy!

Ah, yes–the collonades and the waving brick walls of UVA!–So endearing, and as first year student, I look so forward to seeing this place covered with snow–first snow predicted somewhere around Nov. 13th! Yikes!
Yes, some of the first year classes are large, but expected. Everyone is nice. This is a magical place!

My favorite thing has to be new and different events every weekend. Acapella concerts, improv comedy shows, and football games are just a few of events that happen during the weekend excluding the obvious parties.

My least favorite is early classes, period.
