I chose UPenn not only cuz of its prestige and rank, but also the location.
I want to go to the East Coast where all of the major finance and consulting firms are located so I'd have more opportunity to explore in different firms.

Columbia and NYU would also be nice since they are both known to have excellent Business Program and are both located in the Capital of Finance - The New York City.

but I dunno how I'd research if i were not to use magazine and newspaper. When schools brag about their program, they always include the US NEWS rank. And certain magazines (businessweek) rank it based on: how faculty thinks about the program, how students feel about the program, the avg score on GMAT (or other tests), GPA, placement on job, quality of academics, etc.

So I think I would trust the ranking and is a good way for determining my top choice of schools. And of course, the only other factor would be the location. And I think all of Harvard, Stanford, NYU, Columbia, and UPenn have perfect location to pursue my busienss career.

yeah people...princeton is NOT undergrad only. it just doesn't have a med school or law school or professional stuff like that...in my opinion that's a little stuffy but hey, it certainly is good for undergrads!

I don't think LACs are overrated...people on this board just give them credit that people in the real world never give them. Before I visited CC, I'd never even heard of an LAC. I think they offer an awesome environment for undergrad...if you're going on to graduate school, I think they're a good deal to prepare you. If you're only doing undergrad, then I'd definitely go to a research university.

Edit: had to correct my awful grammar... :(
