Am I interpreting their application correctly? Princeton doesn't accept "transfer" students and in order to apply a second time, the student needs to take a year off and cannot step foot in another institution of higher learning? that really sucks :(

That is correct.

that... really... blows.

I guess you could go to a university for a year, but in essence it'd be a waste, since you'd be reapplying to Princeton as a Freshman (but you'd have taken advanced classes).

I guess you appreciate an acceptance that much more if you only have the one shot?

they don't accept transfers becuase their retention rate is so high (98%)...there's really no need.

What if you gave them 100,000 dollars?

"I guess you could go to a university for a year, but in essence it'd be a waste, since you'd be reapplying to Princeton as a Freshman (but you'd have taken advanced classes)."

wait... could you actually do that? cuz i soooo would if i get rejected.

""I guess you could go to a university for a year, but in essence it'd be a waste, since you'd be reapplying to Princeton as a Freshman (but you'd have taken advanced classes).""

Is that possible? I thought you aren't allowed to apply once you get into a university?

yeah, it's true. you're no longer eligible to apply to princeton as an undergraduate if you already took any full time college or university courses. so there's no way you'd have to redo freshman year.

well, $100,000 is like, a penny for Princeton.

@jerseygirl07 What happened? Did you start undergrad and then apply to Princeton in the end? Please I have the same doubt…
