Will tension rods work for putting up curtains in my D's room in Hagerstown Hall? Thanks

My daughter tried with three different tension rods and none of them worked. The whole thing kept falling down whenever anyone just touched the curtains. Theoretically it should work, but they had no luck.

Try adding a small piece of duct tape under the tension rod (almost like taping bottom of rod to the concrete) to create more stability and provide resistance to movement…
Also look for tension rods with bigger surface area at ends - found some good ones at Bed Bath and Beyond if I remember correctly

Not sure if these were exact ones but this gives you the idea of what I mean

Also, I remember making sure to get the bigger rod so that the window size was at the small end of range that it would fit so that there was more tension.

Thanks, @maryversity. We’ll look for them at BB&B

What are the dimensions of the window? I’m buying the stuff for my room :)

@astrogirl - I dont actually have the dimensions. I’m going by what my D remembers from orientation. I am figuring less than 3 feet across. Maybe someone else can provide a definite answer.

While I don’t know if this holds true for all dorms, the window dimensions in my son’s freshman dorm were 52" wide and 63" high and he was in Chestertown. Lord knows why I save all this info…
