CV Scholarship- ED disadvantage?

I was accepted EDI this year, and I was wondering if anyone knows if this puts me at a disadvantage to receive the Cornelius Vanderbilt Scholarship since I am already legally obligated to pay, no matter how little money I am given.

I asked the admissions office and they said there was no disadvantage, but I’m not sure I believe it haha

Just 1 data point, but my D (current sophomore) received the CV and was accepted ED2.

One of my Vandy grad son’s closer friends was CV. He applied and accepted ED1 as he was likely to be a full pay student. He was very pleasantly surprised. And is in a PhD program in physics now. This sort of anecdotal information makes me believe that the admissions committee flags “of interest” students for merit further discussion later and that Vandy can afford to back whatever shakes out financially for their relatively few merit students. You are not penalized in ED. (If your parental income is high, you will be paying room and board even with a CV or Chancellors or the portion thereof that Vandy determines is still in your Estimated Cost of Attendance range).
