Did any CWRU applicant’s parents get an email addressing them specifically? I saw a post on reddit that a few people did, and some were saying this was a possible sign that they got in??
My ED for CWRU comes out tomorrow and my parents haven’t gotten any such email, so should I be worried? I’m feeling super panicked now.
Don’t read anything into it. CWRU is very good at marketing itself and most people whose parents are getting emails had at some point, during registration for CWRU virtual sessions, shared parent email with CWRU.
My parents have received other emails from them, but it was just this specific one from today that they didn’t get… apparently the email addressed the parents by their last name and said something about selecting colleges so it got me worried
I did receive that email, but we get SO many CWRU emails every day that I wouldn’t read too deeply at the meaning. Good luck to you! My D22 applied EA, so we’re not sure when that decision will roll out exactly. 12/21 maybe?
I know it’s hard, but please try not to worry about it, I agree it’s probably just marketing.
I got one today with the subject “4 reasons CWRU will lead to lifelong success for [D22’s name]” but it wasn’t addressed to me by my last name. At the bottom of the email is an “unsubscribe” button and instructions to stop future mailings, which to me is consistent with marketing. They probably got my email many times – regional info session, virtual sessions etc where D put in my info.
ETA: Maybe your parents didn’t get it because you applied ED so they don’t need to sell the school to your family? (My D applied EA)
