CWRU to build new dorms with 600 beds for Sophomores

Any updates on this? We just visited CWRU and our son loved it, though we didn’t see any construction (although we weren’t looking for it either). He would be a sophomore when the article says they would open and that would be another selling point.

Did you go by Fribley Commons (South side, at the bottom of the Hill)? That is where it would be. Not sure if it got started yet or slowed down because of Covid.

No. We were down at Veale, but did not cross the road. Son says it is at the top of the list regardless. He loved it.

What is he thinking of majoring in?

That is the million dollar question. He is undecided and had previously been leaning toward a liberal arts college, but once he started looking at Case, he changed his mind. His brother is at Carnegie Mellon, so it seems natural that he would go to their rival. He likes math and is thinking maybe economics or data science, but is keeping his options open.

Well, then Case might be good for him! Case has a Single Door Admission policy so if he switched majors he wouldn’t have to “get into” the Engineering school or the Business School.

That definitely went into the plus column.
