"D" grade in CSU Golden Four

Hello everyone,

First of all, I’d like to thank you for opening this thread and reading this far. Recently, I got a conditional admissions offer from California State University, Fullerton. The condition is that I must both satisfy the transferable 60 units marker and complete the Golden Four requirement by the end of spring 2018. I’m enrolled in community college with a GPA of 3.52 and by the end of spring '18, I will have completed all necessary requirements to transfer, but one. This is my reason for posting this. I’m on the road to getting a D grade in Pre Calculus. The CSU system requires to have a grade of C- or better in order to successfully accomplish the Golden Four requirement. So, my question to you all is: will my admissions offer get rescinded? I have significantly improved my performance in class (because I have been studying day and night), but it’s too late to improve my grade from a D to a C. Regardless of my admissions offer getting rescinded or not, I am planning on taking pre cal during the summer. I know passing won’t be any trouble during the summer because I will be fully prepared before the class even starts. What are your thoughts? Will my admissions offer be rescinded? If I get rescinded and I appeal the decision with intentions of retaking and passing pre cal during the summer, will I be readmitted?

A D in a required class will likely get your admittance yanked. Each appeal case is evaluated on its own merits so, maybe. I’d be proactive and contact your target school now and ask what they recommend you do.
