I am a freshman and am hoping to run track/cc at d1 school. Last week I ran my second mile of the season at 5:20 (improving by 8 sec in a week). Could I be recruited to a d1 school eventually?

Understand that odds of an academic scholarships for a high GPA/ACT or SAT score are much higher than odds of a track scholarship, especially since track scholarships are often partial.
(At some schools, a 1400 will get you full tuition while track will only get you 30% off tuition)
As for whether you could be recruited, if you don’t get hurt and keep improving, you’ll see when junior year comes around.
Note that D3 colleges may recruit you - your financial aid would be based on need so if your family makes more than 150k you probably wouldn’t get much, but if you have high need, your track/cc performance AS WELL AS your academic performance could help you at some colleges that value the sport.

this is a question for your coaches, who know times much better than we do, OP.

Using Google, it appears that you need to be sub 5:00 to be considered good as a freshman, sub 4:48 to be a national talent.
