D will report to the team in August for the pre-season training. How do they pay for the meals during the training? With cash or the purchased meal plan? I know I could probably get the answer from the coach but I don’t want to bother her for only one question. Anyone has any idea?
Oh my, as parent of incoming D3 fall season athlete, I hadn’t thought about that one! I imagine it varies by school, but had figured there was a sur-charge for an interim meal plan. Since football, men’s and women’s soccer and cross country are all on campus early, that’s a lot of kids to feed. My kid’s coach has said there will be an early summer communication with details for the incoming recruits about summer training etc., and I have guessed that move-in logistics etc. will be part of that.
At my DD’s school meals for during the pre-season (before other students arrived) were provided. I believe this is the standard practice, but do not know that for sure. There were set times when the team had to eat as only one dining hall was open and was on a limited schedule.
