Da Vinci Code Movie!

anyone check out the latest newsweek???
it's got a special spread

this movie looks so great, and loaded with stars as well, like Tom Hanks for Robert Langon

i saw the trailer and coudn't help posting

check it out: <a href="http://www.apple.com/trailers/sony_pictures/da_vinci_code/large.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.apple.com/trailers/sony_pictures/da_vinci_code/large.html</a></p>

Wow... damn that looks good...

I really need to go and buy the book.

tom hanks has never made a good movie. Besides ToyStory that is - and he was just a voice.

I seriously beg to differ with that statement Sonata. Philadephia? Forrest Gump? Saving Private Ryan? The Terminal?

what? i think tom hanks is one of the best actors out there in hollywood..

Sonata, I think you mixed Tom Hanks up with Ben Afleck

Cast Away! Tom Hanks pretty much played the whole movie by himself.

I really want to see the movie. It seems pretty good.

You know whats wrong? When movie producers take famous actors and put them in new movies. For example this one. If they found a new guy I think that would have been good. Also for a Series of Unfortunate Events, they basically spoiled the movie with having a non serious person act as Count Olaf.

I havent read Series of Unfornate events, but i watched the movie and that count olaf was damn annoying!

the trailer for this movie looks really good! I finished reading Angels and Demons last night and i think that was a much better book (and had a better ending) than the da vinci code. I hope they make a movie for angels and demons!

I really liked this book, despite what everyone on the hs forums says.. The writing may have been not up to par but i thought the plot was fantastic (along with angels and demons).

I reckon tom hanks was a good choice, but i dunno, i dont feel satisfied with him being langdon. But then, I tried to think of other actors who could play langdon but couldnt think of any..

When I read the book, I imagined Noah Wyle for the part. However, I'm no casting director. I, too, wasn't satisfied when I heard about the casting of Hanks, but then I saw the trailer. Tom Hanks is totally Robert Langdon.

Wow. That's really bad hair.

That aside, I wasn't a huge fan of the book - but that was due primarily to the writing quality, which is, of course, no longer an issue :) This looks good. Not chuffed about Hanks but he rarely does anything poorly, so, come on. Glad they got Amelie for Sophie (the name is slipping my mind, sorry). And it's weird seeing Alfred whoever as the bishop/priest/whomever as I just watched Indiana Jones this morning....wow.

It's gonna be awesome.

Tom Hanks is amazing. Even if I don't like his movies, I find it extremely difficult not to be charmed by his amazing ability to act.

I love the plot of the Da Vinci Code. VERY excited about the movie!

Tom Hanks is one of the greatest actors that I ever had the chance of watching. And I'll defeinetley be watching this movie.
While we are in teh subject, I tried reading other Dan Brown books (Angels and Demons), but I could not find them interesting... does anybody know of something similar to the Da Vinci Code?

really? i thought angels and demons was amazing as well! u might wanna try deception point or digital fortress. or just try angels and demons again!

yeah i liked angels and demons more than davinci code. I didnt get past chapter 3 in deception point.. I didnt know what i was reading.. something about astronauts..?

i didn't really like angels and demons for some reason...
i stopped reading after like.. 5 chapters...

digital fortress was pretty fun to read...
it's just that some stuff were pretty obvious.

even da vinci code had some clues that were pretty obvious as well..
(the upside-flippedover-mirror image message thingi...i mean how could they NOT see it and recognize it right there??????)

I'm reading the Da Vinci Code right now... I really enjoy the book, however am slightly annoyed at all the people who take it as historical truth.

lol i know!,,

ppl are like "i never knew that it was like that!! etc.."

i'm like... "i wasn't."

I actually wish I knew more about some of the things the book brings up. However when it has dabbled in places that I'm pretty familer (I know a rather disgusting amount about the life of Constantine I and the Council of Nicaea) with I've found some errors... Nothing terribly wrong with the writtings, just a lot of the basics are grossly oversimplified. However, it should also be taken into account that I'm a History major, so odds are I've taken more history classes than a lot of people. Overall it's a fun book, just not something that people should ever take as historical truth...

Also I think Hanks will fit the Langdon part well.
