Anyone have a kid do this camp? Opinions? Did it help them decide on applying to this school for Design? Is it a good test drive if trying to decide on this area of study? Thanks so much for the help!
My daughter attended and loved it. Seems to give the students a true feel for DAAP. I was impressed with the involvement of professors and current students. Also very impressed with the projects these kids completed in one week. She will be attending DAAP in the fall - along with quite a few of the friends she met at camp.
Thanks so much for the feedback!
My daughter attended DAAPCamp in 2013 and the SCAD summer camp in 2012. Both were great experiences that allowed her to get a feel for campus life and the programs. I highly recommend it, and attending does show them commitment, although you need both the grades and the test scores to get accepted as DAAP programs are very competitive. She liked her time at DAAPCamp so much, that she decided to attend for Interior Design, and is now in her Junior year, and is hoping to be selected to study abroad this coming Fall. She’s very happy with the program. Good luck in your decision.
All ears here @singermom4 my kid is interested in this camp also to learn about the field I didn’t realize it was competitive…I hope this works.out, student is so excited to try it
Just to clarify, DAAPCamp is first come, first serve, and is not competitive. I was referring to the College application for admittance to DAAP programs, which is highly competitive.
Thanks for the clarification. My S plans to enroll for this summer - although it isn’t ‘competitive’ by qualification apparently it does fill up quickly.
