**Dartmouth 2014 Waitlist Thread**

Anyone know the answer to collegesgirl’s question?

Last year, a couple of people reported getting accepted off the waitlist around May 8: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/dartmouth-college-2013/710189-any-news-waitlists.html</a> This year, if it’s clear right after May 1 that they have spaces to fill, something similar is likely.

thanks, Opensecret.

b…u…m…p

I just received a mail from Dartmouth thanking me for confirming that I want to remain on the waitlist. But I had confirmed this on 2nd April itself! :S

In April, admissions’ focus was encouraging the admitted applicants to come. After May 1, the waitlist becomes a priority until they fill their class. Write back, tell them you still want Dartmouth, and include any good news that’s come along since you last communicated.

@opensecret: I’ve already done that. I accepted the waitlist offer online on the 2nd. I then followed up with a letter which they said they’ve added to my file. And today they sent me the mail thanking me for confirming that I want to remain on the waitlist. Perhaps now that it’s May 1, they’re sending it to everyone who’s on the waitlist? Has anyone else here received it?

I have also received that email.

Oh good. Did you receive it today?

Received it two hours ago. I think everyone gets it.

I received it as well. I just emailed my waiting list letter at 4:20 PM. Hope sending it in this late wasn’t an awful thing I will regret.

The trouble is that if (when?) we get rejected from the waitlist, we won’t know whether the time we sent our letters played a significant enough role or not :P

Haha you are right. Maybe the waiting list won’t even be used.

what did the email say?

I just got it too. collegesgirl, it’s the exact same thing that we got when we first confirmed waitlist spots. “Thank you for informing us that you wish to remain on the waiting list for Dartmouth’s Class of 2014”, etc.

Oh, and coincidentally they also replied back to my have-you-received-my-updates email today.

Hey, I never got an email when I first confirmed my waitlist spot :O

^ Me neither.

…but I did get an email yesterday.

I wonder what would happen if someone turned in the update letter on time but other recommendations a few days later.

does anyone know when/where we can find out how many people accepted dartmouth’s offer?

When do they start taking people of the waitlist? Today? Or in a few weeks?
