Just putting this out there, I looked on idoc and the verification worksheet there says, before they give out funds theyv are legally required to use this sheet. Don’t know if that’s positive
@AdaCzyka Did you do it?
I’m pretty sure I did the worksheet but it was for a different college. I had the sheet uploaded to idoc so they could have used it. I now see it in my Dartmouth application portal.
If we’re selected for FAFSA verification, are we specifically emailed about it? like a “you’ve been selected for verification” email?
I was not specifically emailed that I was “Selected for verification”. But, I already had a verification form accessible from my Idoc. I believe they took it from there.
@screamingkettle Not Sure about others, but I did.
For those who have received a email requesting a verification form, did you previously complete one or is this the first time you’ve seen the form?
Do they ask for more forms when you’re selected? I’m just trying to determine if I was selected or not because I got an email that I needed to fix a small mistake, but that was it. All my documents except FAFSA and CSS changed their received date to the day I was emailed as well. I thought for verification they ask for more information, is that right?
Found this online:
Why was I selected for Verification?
The main reasons for being selected for verification include that you were chosen randomly, the FAFSA you submitted was incomplete, your FAFSA contains estimated information or the data you provided on the FAFSA is inconsistent. Verification is a federal regulation. Students who are selected for verification are not being punished; rather, verification prevents ineligible students from receiving aid by reporting false information and ensures that eligible students receive all of the aid for which they are qualified.
@AdaCzyka This is my first time.
I found this on the Dartmouth website:
"Dartmouth has no control over either the selection process or the extent of data required for Federal Verification. You will receive notification that you have been selected for Federal Verification and you will need to read through the documentation requests, gather and complete the required paperwork within a short period of receiving your notification.
Renewal students who are selected will not receive their award until all verification documents have been submitted and reviewed."
Hey y’all, Princeton is next Wed the 12th after 7pm. Yale is Friday the 14th after 4pm. We should be hearing soon…
Cornell is apparently Monday the 10th and Stanford tomorrow (the 7th)
Apparently, the verification process is quite common. My Dartmouth portal says they have the verification so I’m not going to worry. Unless they ask for additional details or supporting documents.
Also, my Dartmouth portal also says they took my non filler w2 form. This was not on the original list of required documents.
The verification process is from the federal government.
hey if Dartmouth didn’t request my q1 grades is that a bad sign?
@wackrapconcarne I can’t say for sure but most of my people I know and myself got first quarter transcript request from Dartmouth. Even the people who had relatively low grades and SAT scores.
I got an email from College Board IDOC telling me that a school has requested additional financial aid documents. Well it does not say Dartmouth but I think it is cuz there are only two schools on my IDOC list and the other one is not gonna be out till march next year… But yeah I basically forgot to put some of the forms on IDOC (non essential forms like Form 1099 that I assumed I do not have to fill out)
oh no. well at least I know my results early lol.
nvm they did ask my gc just didn’t tell me
