Is it true that Dartmouth has preference of boys over girls?

Hey, member of the Class of 2016 here. I want all of you to know that regardless of the decision that you receive imminently, you are a profoundly unique individual with a bright future, regardless of where you end up. I KNOW how stressful these last few hours can be, believe me I was absolutely dying last year. I hope the best for all of you, and I wish that you call all receive the privilege of an acceptance today because Dartmouth is truly such an amazing place to be. For those that do, I want to congratulate you and I welcome you to our Green family. For those that don’t, please don’t dwell on it. Take it in stride, as hard as it may be, and move forward with your applications, because the place for you is out there somewhere. May you all be blessed with good fortunes today, and the best of luck to each of you.

@tylrrvera Much-needed words. Thank you very much.

Perhaps, some of us will continue to write more essays for RD as I am likely. Let’s be optimistic! Who knows we may get in Yale, Princeton, Columbia.

- AnxiousMom25 - son applied

My son is checking his log-in constantly. Are they going to upload the entire list all at once at precisely 4pm (EST)? Or could it be an hour or two on either side of this target time?

If he doesn’t get in ED, I sure hope they give him an opportunity to apply RD.

Wishing you all the very best - I hope many dreams come true this afternoon!

Just a slight twist on all of your encouragement to each other. What a great bunch of people you all are. All that insight you have is well placed, i.e. that there are many great schools out there for all of you. I’ve been encouraged to read the last day’s posts. As much as I know you all want to get in to Dartmouth and I hope they accept all of you, you WILL all find terrific schools and those schools will be SO fortunate to have you within their communities. P’16

Last year, decisions were posted at the exact stated time. Paper versions of the decisions came in the mail within a week or so.

Gooood luck everyone! :)

6.5hours… I’m so anxious right now :/

A close friend of mine applied to Darmouth ED… I was so jealous when he told me you all get your decisions today, I have to wait another 9 days to hear from Emory! That being said, I understand the nervousness and anticipation – it’s not even my life that’s being affected here, but I can’t concentrate on anything except what his decision’s gonna’ be!

That being said, his application is golden (URM, tons of APs, published reseach) in every respect but his test score… He has a 27 ACT, so that’s the source of all this anxiety. I didn’t even apply and I can’t wait to hear from Dartmouth!=P

lol I hope he gets in too :)

6 more hrs to go guys!

5 1/2 hours to go… Praying for all our acceptances!

t minus 5.5. ish. i’m so scared! good luck to all of you!!!

To answer jaz’s q. Not since the 1970s

I tend to avoid CC to keep college admissions out of my mind and live in the day instead, but with 5 hrs. to go it’s just too hard! This school day cannot end fast enough!
