Well, Dartmouth sends a list of names of applicant names to alumni throughout the country (lists are geographically based, so yours would be on the list of someone in CT) and then the alumni contact you to set up an interview. My interview was just this Saturday, so you’ve still got time to have one, but you can’t personally request the school for one as it is up to the alum to contact you (as I understood from what my interviewer told me). There are still many applicants who don’t receive interviews.

Any idea when they will send out the email with the notification date and time?

Any idea when they will send out the decisions? I mean, a specific date? Because most other Ivy’s have indicated 12th and/or 13th Dec.

try asking them on their website under the “contact us,” they will probably give u a better answer than what you will get on here.

bumpbumpbumpbump

I found this on the Dartmouth admissions blog. Still pretty vague though:

“We typically notify students of their early decision by the end of the second week in December. Shortly after the Thanksgiving holiday, the Admissions Office will be communicating with Early Decision applicants with specifics about this years notification date.”

I remember reading somewhere about the 15th of December but apparently in previous years, decisions have come out as early as the 10th. I’m so nervous! I’m assuming they will send out an email when the decisions are posted, right?

It’s been as early as the 6th of December (last year) but I don’t think that’s happening this year.

Wait where do we check our admissions decision when it is released? In the site where we check our application status or do we get an email with the decision or redirecting us to another site?

@jamesHM
it will be on your application ststus

okay thanks @emanon so we can just check it right where we check if our application is complete thats good

But Dartmouth does send out emails stating the time and day of the decisions, right?

Yeah they send an email a few days before the notification date.

Does anyone know when ED letters/email are sent? The website says mid Dec but has anyone heard anything?

@rocketcity
i think none of us did
thus its not likely it will be released on this friday as guessed

Considering that last year there was also an extension for the ED application, and there were 1,574 applicants compared to this years 1,678, it will probably be at least the 8th. I think someone on this thread had an interviewer who said that it would be the 8th although I’m not sure how the alumni would know that. I called the office of admissions earlier this week and all she said is that it would be before the 15th.

Really hoping that it would come out on the 8th! hoping for the best! Good luck everyone:)

Well, so far no emails announcing the release time and date. Thought we might make a pledge thread or something when it finally arrives?

Saw earlier that they send an email the day before releasing the date, adding that to the what other people have heard about the 8th… I think we should expect the email today or tomorrow… maybe that’s wishful thinking ? I just want to know and put an end to the college nightmares. I read somewhere that Early Action Schools are required to release decisions by December 15th. Also, saw someone had posted about getting in RD after an ED deferral; the chances are extraordinarily slim to get in RD if you have been deferred ED. Good Luck everyone! the best piece of advice I’ve been given during this whole process was: “If you don’t get rejected, it means you didn’t aim high enough”

i think for school at this level(top 10)…luck is more important then anything else
and i agree i hope this nightmare to end soon too…thats just too long of a wait
