@serwar473 admissions work separately from financial aid, so this will definitely not hurt your chances for admission. Most people would agree and say that by now they have finalized decisions for all, if not most, applicants.
Historically speaking, receiving financial aid requests close to the decision release date is a good sign. Please keep us updated!
I just checked my daughter’s application and it shows just FAFSA completed in the Financial Aid tab with the other forms pending (CSS and IDOC). We did not complete any of the others because we don’t qualify for any aid. Is it too late to fill out the information? Daughter received completed application confirmation as well as March 21 email letting her know the admissions date. I am a first-timer going through this process and am now terrified I have screwed up. It didn’t effect her other college admissions (I don’t think?). Any advice?
Not sending in the CSS and IDOC will not effect her application chances. All that it means is that the financial aid office doesn’t have that additional information to award aid (from what I understand). If admitted, I would think that your daughter might get less aid, but that’s all. None of the other schools we applied to used IDOC or CSS, so we learned about it late. Good luck to your daughter!
My SAT is pretty low (1400 on the new - 710 CW and 690 M) but everything else in my application seems rather solid to me. Do you think I still have a decent shot, or is the applicant pool too competitive for people like me (low SATers) to even have a chance? Also, how much does geography play a role in Dartmouth’s admissions? I live in a small suburb in Florida and I’m wondering if this would give me an advantage, since nobody at my school/in my area applies to Dartmouth?
Would anyone be willing to look over my “It’s not easy being green” supplement? I was granted an extension because of some unusual circumstances and I need someone to look it over.
