That makes sense.

Did any of you by any chance happen to be asked to submit one of the forms listed on the website?
No
by the way guys: dartmouth sent an email confirming that they would be releasing 5:00 on ivy day
Does everyone have the non flier document show up on their portal as received? I don’t remember ever filling one out.
@pratik98 yeah. also to everyone talking about this stuff, ive had a load of docs on my financial aid tab for the longest time so it probably doesnt mean anything (RD applicant btw).
I literally only have CSS and FAFSA on my financial aid checklist. I didn’t submit my IDOC though, could that be why I don’t have a lot of docs on my financial aid tab?
thats’ why
For the people with like 10 or 11 documents on their portal, what are the actual documents called? I’m international and have 3 documents.
I have 10
I was deferred Early Decision, and I thought the 6 weeks from submitting my application to getting deferred was the longest time. With that in mind, waiting three and a half months felt like an eternity. Regardless of how long we’ve been waiting, there is one more week, so don’t let your nerves freak you out. I suggest everyone worried about financial aid and how many documents are on their tab understand how little sense it makes to get all worked up over a hunch based on an assumption. Keep yourself busy and don’t try and find information where there is none.
I would make a huge huge bet that there is no connection between fin-aid documents YOU uploaded and your decision. In fact, I would like to think Dartmouth wouldn’t allow that to happen, because if it did a pattern would emerge and then people would figure it out. Those are just my two cents 8-|
Did all applicants receive the email confirming 3/30 release date? My daughter’s application is complete in the Dartmouth portal but she didn’t receive the email release announcement. I wonder if that means anything?
I didn’t submit my peer recommendation, but submitted the application. Does that mean i’m basically rejected?
@johonmilla No, the Peer Recommendation was optional. Pretty sure. There were students that were admitted without it last year, so you’re fine.
I have 11 financial aid documents, but it doesn’t mean anything. I uploaded documents to IDOC that weren’t needed by Dartmouth but were needed for other schools, and Dartmouth happened to download them for more information on my living situation.
Btw, my interview lasted 20 minutes over Skype because the alumnus had to go do something. Kinda sad about it, couldn’t demonstrate my personality as much as I could have
Does it really matter?
Someone told me 20% of applicants get an interview.
All of the schools I didn’t get interviews to I got rejected.
Don’t be overly concerned about offers for interviews. My daughter was admitted RD without an offer to interview to Barnard, a school that is well known for wanting students to connect with them regularly,
Almost everyone from my school that applied got an interview, even people that weren’t competitive at all. I don’t think they really matter.
maybe the people who seem the most uncompetitive are the most competitive. mind blown
Guys I have a question and I would be very thankful if you could answer me. My portal was updated yesterday and two new documents (business and parent tax returns) were uploaded on the financial aid checklist. The problem is that I am an international student from Iraq and we don’t have those documents here, so I sent them an email (I couldn’t call cause the office was closed) explaining my situation. Do you guys think this might be a good sign? I mean why would they ask for more documents if they weren’t interested? I am also worried it might hurt my chances of acceptance because they requested the documents a week before the notification date and they will only be able to see my email on Monday. What do you guys think?
