****Dartmouth College Class of 2021 Regular Decision Thread****

@DreamforIvy what do you mean “if they want to”, do they systematically choose who gets an interview? i thought it was just random

@allima Yes. Sorry, my words were confusing. I meant to convey that Dartmouth isn’t going to take into account anyone contacting them for an interview. If you have alums in your area, then you will automatically be assigned one and the interviewer gets to decide when they would like to contact you!

Does anyone know the answer to my question please? Can I still send it in?

^ Yes, go ahead and send in the LOR and peer letter asap.

Should I be worried if I haven’t been approached about an alumni interview? I’ve heard that some interviews can be done as late as February, but I’m not sure.

I was wondering the same thing. My daughter is yet to be contacted. I know the website says that not everyone gets them, but based on where we live I thought she would get one.

I would not worry if you don’t get an interview especially if you live where there are not a lot of active alumni

However, if you should get called for an interview plans make every attempt to go.

i dont see why february wouldn’t be okay, its a month earlier so i think it would be fine

@ghvan99 which part of Canada are you from, I am still not contacted by interviewer yet, so anxious

Hey, Diogenes, we’ve found an honest man!

You don’t have to be the best to be the captain. D was captain of the Dartmouth Women’s Rugby team her senior year, and she’d be the first to tell you that she was far from the best player on the pitch, but she knew how to communicate with the coach and her teammates – and how to talk to the Sir [referee] to keep things calm during the games.

Just wondering how long the average interview generally lasts? Worried my 20 minute meeting was not a good sign.

my interview was 45-50 minutes, but thats because she was a somewhat young and we got along well; she also let me steer the conversation and I end up talking a lot haha

I haven’t been contacted about an interview, should i contact the admissions office?

Anyone know how many applications Dartmouth received this year? I can’t seem to find anything, but in previous years, we knew the number of applications by now.

My interview lasted about 1 hr and 15 mins… is that good or bad? My interviewer had a lot of questions prepared.

I think they filled half the class in the ED round. Dartmouth is known for doing that.

Whipped out an email to Dartmouth admissions to see about an interview. Hope to hear from them.

@snicks1234 lol I recognize that phrasing from the Georgetown forum. You and I are applying to a lot of the same schools

@cisobelm Lol! Really? Yeah, well then I hope we both get in. The process is daunting.

Hopefully I get an interview.
