@mdchang99 thanks
So I just realized I submitted an ACT score without the writing portion, and I checked the website and they say they require the writing portion. On my portal though, next to the the testing requirement it says received and there is a green check mark.
I have a different testing date that I can submit that has the writing portion. The only reason I didn’t send that one earlier is b/c the composite is lower. Should I send that or am I fine???
@tycacti you should usually submit all scores. Send it, but I’m not sure if it is too late.
Finally getting a skypes interview.
@lulu0207 not yet!
Just finished my interview. My interviewer was awesome. Had a great conversation.
i really want this school.
If anyone on here was interviewed by Dr. Savage in South Carolina, I saw you in the hotel lobby and you looked very spiffy
Did anybody receive an email stating that they needed to fill out additional financial aid information (verification of assets)? I called them today and they said that it was a new thing that they started just yesterday. I also saw that the dates of when they received all my financial aid information change on my portal to yesterday’s date if that helps. I asked my friends about it, but they didn’t receive the email and their portals did not update (and they too applied for aid). Any thoughts?
I was wondering if anyone knows anyone that got in with good sat scores but just one subject test?
@pratik98 My friend got in with a 23 ACT and no subject tests. He actually got into Columbia and Brown as well and is currently attending Brown. Subject tests are not required
@DreamforIvy Was your friend a URM or recruited athlete?
@dryorange URM, but that only carries you so far too! His essays were amazing (he let me read them).
So for the academic part of the application not the ec’s and other considerations, do you think with a 1570 sat and 800 math 2 I wouldn’t be at a disadvantage?
@pratik98 Obviously you do. 1570 is nearly perfect and an 800 is perfect. Why would you be at a disadvantage at all? I think you are stressing way too much over a freaking 1570 on the SAT. Like wth…
@pratik98 I don’t mean to sound harsh, but it’s very annoying when someone posts worried that their scores are not good enough when they are well within the average range for the school. Like 1570 is in the top 99%. Dartmouth also explicitly says on their website, “if you do not submit subject test scores, it will not prevent your candidacy from receiving a full review by the Admissions Committee.” Your application will be read and reviewed just like everyone else’s. Just be patient and wait 35 days until the decisions are out
Surely the numbers in post #110 are transposed?
@binky17 What do you mean?
I was with this friend waiting for the ivies and I asked him a couple questions about his GPA, rank, test scores, etc., and when he told me he got a 23 on the ACT I thought to myself, “Oh wow, I don’t think he’s going to get into any of them.” Then there I was when he opened his decisions and he ended up getting into 3 ivies. I was in complete shock.
Ok, you answered my question, thank you @DreamforIvy I thought you meant to write 32 initially.
