A 23 ACT is really surprising, even with a few hooks. I know a recruited athlete that was told her 26 was too low and they dropped her. This friend must have had something very special about him/her because that score is almost in the “not college ready” zone (doesn’t ACT equate the scores with some kind of college readiness statement? I know they used to at least.
@collegemomjam That’s exactly what I was thinking. He took the ACT 4 times and got a 23 every time.
@DreamforIvy how is your friend handling Brown?
@collegemomjam He is doing very well. He said it’s difficult, but manageable!
see that annoys me because i got deferred from brown. and my friend who is a URM with a 3.9 gpa and 34 act also got deferred. weird…
^^ I guess that just goes to say that his URM status was definitely no what got him in!
Another RD Applicant here! Is there anyone in this thread who only submitted the SAT I test score to Dartmouth?
My daughter only submitted the SAT I…from 12/15. She had a 780 Math, 760 Reading, and 730 Writing. She went in cold for writing. She was happy with her scores but I’m thinking they might be too low for Dartmouth. She’s valedictorian, not sure if that will help.
@collegemomjam Your daughter’s Critical Reading and Math score is almost in the 75th percentile for Dartmouth. I am think about submitting the SAT I scores only too.
Early Decision deferral applicant here! Does anyone know when the decisions letters will be sent out? My state school comes out on the 15th of March and I’m hoping Dartmouth isn’t too far behind that.
@Erikj28 Last year it was released on 31st March, so it is better to expect the decisions to be released at the end of March.
@Erikj28 @sakibdurlob March 30 is Ivy Day this year. All ivies come out with decisions on the same day!
@DreamforIvy My final High School Examination would start from 1st April. I am definitely not going to check the decisions on 31st. lol
@sakibdurlob Well they come out on the 30th if that makes a difference.
Anyone receive likely letters yet for the RD round?
If so, post here!
By when should a reward or activity be updated to affect the decision. at least to be read? Still playing a Winter team sport which won league championship and likely to win regional champion next week. Then, the team would go to the state playoff, but not promising to win the state though.
I applied to Penn, Dartmouth, and Cornell. Kind of worried because Penn offered me an interview and it went to my junk mail and I missed the interview date
What shall be the latest date by which I could send an important update. I know, that by now most of the decisions have been finalised, but it is something that will greatly help my application and may compel them to re review my application. Please help!!!
@intellectboy i don’t think all decisions are finalized…there’s still about a month left.
@intellectboy hey you’re on the uchicago forum too
