Hey 15's!!

Interested in joining the oldest band in the ivy league, one of the oldest Dartmouth organizations, and a group that definitely ISN'T your high school marching band??

Then check out the DCMB! We are a scatter band, require no auditions, a very small time commitment, optional PE credit (you need 3 to graduate!) and an awesome way to support school spirit and have a great time doing it!

If you're interested in learning more check us out at dcmb.dartmouth.edu and fill out our interest form!

@spunaugle: After reading your post, I feel compelled to ask several questions:

1) Do members of the band get to travel? If so, where?

2) What can you tell me about your faculty advisor? Does it concern you that he has previously worked at Cornell University?

3) I am very confused as to what the name of your organization actually is. I navigated to the “interest form” alluded to in your post, and suddenly, I saw something about storing freshmen in pouches, and the name, “The Dartmouth College Marching Band” suddenly became “The Dartmouth College Marsupial Band.”

4) According to your website, your members “often make some of their first and closest friends in the band.” Is it really true that many band members had no friends before they joined the marching band? If so, why would I want to interact with these outcasts?

5) How much do you haze the freshmen? Do you really store them in pouches? I’m pretty sure that’s against the law…
