Hey 14's!

Do you play an instrument?

If not, can you hit something really hard?

Do you like traditions?

Does writing scrips that make fun of our opponents sound fun?

...How about free food?

If any of these things interest you, consider joining the Dartmouth College Marching Band!

Note: We are NOT your High School marching band. We are a scatter band, we avoid long practices in the burning sun or freezing cold, and, in general, we have a lot of fun.

Find us on the web at DCMB - Home Blitz me at spunaugle@dartmouth.edu or message me on here/ respond to this thread and I'll be glad to answer any questions!

So what are practices/the time you have to invest like? I did marching band for five years in middle/high school, and it was a pretty intense time commitment.

That is one great thing about the DCMB, the time commitment is pretty chill. In fall term we have practices on Thursday and Fridays from 4-6pm, and we play at every home game and a few away ones (amount depending on the year). However, if you have a conflict with a few practice times/can’t make a game or two, it is not a big deal. The band is as big of a commitment as you’d like to make it.

As a side note the DCMB does offer PE credit! To obtain PE credit (you need 3 of them to Graduate from D) you have to come to every home game (roughly every other Saturday afternoon in fall term) and make most of the practices. However, plenty of people opt not to go for the PE credit and are not bound by those rules.

Just bumping this thread up for interest!

Also, if any of you will be at Dimensions be sure to check us out there! We’ll have a booth at the activities fair and will be preforming a show on the Dartmouth Hall Front lawn Friday at 5PM! As always, if you have any questions send me an e-mail at the above address.
