Dartmouth Dormroom on my christmas list...

hey guys,

If you guys get accepted to Dartmouth tomorrow (hopefully!!), is anyone going to visit Dartmouth around the holidays??

Considering it- I actually considered going down on Saturday if I get accepted, to buy sweatshirts and stuff. I think I might go with mail order though.

Elizabeth is the only person I know who has to go "down" to Dartmouth!

Hahaha, one of the charming distinctions of being a Mainer (or Mainah, as many up here would say). Another one is the accent (which I don't have...although I say 'wicked' a lot more often than I ought to).

HAHA! I live in mid-state NY... Dartmouth's South of where I live, lol, but going down South in the Winter isn't supposed to be that cold.

Um, I would, but...I'm kinda far away. But I'm definitely gonna get another t-shirt and some bumper stickers from the co-op website.

Wait...

MUST...NOT...JINX...SELF...

If any of you are going to come visit Dartmouth winter term after you get in, feel free to give me a blitz at amm06@dartmouth.edu. I'd be happy to show you around, or just answer questions if you have any after you take the "official" tour.

Thanks athena! We just might have to take you up on that...

No problem. The guided tours are good but they aren't always so accurate, if you can imagine what I mean. A lot of fluff. But my roommate and I would be happy to give our perspective, and even show you guys our sweet dorm room.

ditto to Athena's offer...e-mail me kblodge@dartmouth.edu. My roomates and I have a kickass dormroom and a comfy futon. And crazy, wild, amazing flooormates. We've already put up five or so prospees, but accepted students are even more fun. Good luck to you all

yah, I'd love to take an accepted student sometime- especially if you don't want to have to deal with Kelsey...guys...she's a catch ;) ....Anyhow, "blitz" me at zrs@dartmouth.edu and I'd be happy to help in any way I can.

i just have to say, I've been away from dartmouth for a day, and I already miss it. this month of break is going to KILL me. I miss school so much, I miss my friends there. I've blitzed people from school it seems more than I've talked to my friends. I really love it so much, and can't wait for January 4th...ugh. It is by far, the most wonderful place on earth.

Last year a couple of 08s got their offers of admission revoked for getting wasted at Dimensions weekend... or that might have been 07s the year before. Actually, come to think of it, I'm pretty sure they were 07s.
I mean, that sucks if they were ED and hadn't gotten in anywhere else... So be careful if you come visit!!!

what does it mean to get wasted at deminsions weekend?

Hahaha sorry...

They got very, very intoxicated at the weekend for accepted students in April.

Sorry, just got to work and it's been a loooong week. (Longer for you guys, I'm sure!)

Xan, Appros, Kelsey and any others who I have left out.

Congrats on finishing up your first term at Dartmouth.

Athena, ccongrats on having such an amazing leave term experience.

I picked up my daughter last night and I asked her

Now that the first term is over was it everything you thought it would be?

she said

it was so much more.

She said it has been an amazing first term. she worked hard, met some great people and really likes her fellow 08's. She doesn't know how she will get through the next 3 weeks (a lot of blitzes).

I hope that you all had the same wonderful experience your first term. I can hear your collective sigh of relief now that finals are behind you. Have a wonderful holiday season and on to Winter 05

thanks sybbie, yes- finals are over...it's funny, during finals, I was never "upset" with any of the workload or the finals themselves. I was just very very....ready to stop. I have this wonderful ability to think "this paper is going to be done and handed in in 24 hours" even when I haven't even started it. It's like- it will happen, it just hasn't started. Anyway, my point is- finals were killer, but it's only in retrospect that I am really like "wow...that was tough." At the time, I didn't have time to think about it!

Anyhow, I'm happy to hear your daughter had a good first term and I hope she has a great winter break!

Thank you Sybbie :)

Thanks Sybbie!

Thanks, Sybbie! I had such an amazing first term...I just got back into California today, and I already miss Dartmouth and my friends. Zack (Apppro), lol to your previous post ;). I still have a final draft of an essay due tomorrow, which I have to go work on, so happy holidays to everyone!
