THE SUSPENSE IS KILLING ME
does anyone know if the admissions process weighs the dartmouth supplemental essay more than the commonapp essay? I’m only asking this bc in retrospect i feel my commonapp essay was weak but by supplemental essay was fairly strong
How many days before the actual release date do they send out the email telling us when it will be??
@clairecm98, I don’t think they’ve specified a distinction between which one is weighted more heavily.
@amann27, notice was given 4-5 days before release, I believe.
Really hope to see you guys some day! (At Dartmouth, of course!)
I’m still holding onto the hope that we’ll find out the 11th! I’m really procrastinating on starting my RD applications.
Check out the Brown ED thread, people there are already starting to see their names on the current student’s directory. We should try it too, just search for your name at http://dartmouth.edu/directory
I’m not in there
It doesn’t say '20 for anyone in that directory so I don’t think they started putting people there.
Not there…
Pretty sure it’s only for enrolled students.
Yep not in there either I’m sure they’re still reviewing applications
How exactly are the applications reviewed? I know it’s looked over by 2-3 reviewers who each consider the candidate as accept, deny, or possible but what happens after that?
@clairecm98 Someone said that this year, applications go straight to the committee. Over there, people sit around a big table and judge the applicant together.
Last year, it would be reviewed by a couple readers who would decide whether or not to send the application to the committee.
Didn’t they do that before anyway?
Sorry, I didn’t see that you wrote what they did last year.
Has anyone begun their RD applications just in case?
Yeah. 12 down, 5 to go
I haven’t started any RD apps and don’t plan on doing so unless if I get rejected from Dartmouth.
I only have two RDs left to do- UPenn and Pomona College.
