wHat essay titles??

@Sunny
Still sounds really interesting!

@Quiver
Well Keya, Boss, Blue and Rishav all seem to have had interesting titles/topics - which includes you and Sunny
Kitesurfing (where I just describe why I enjoy it so much) and my sister as a significant person in my life

Oh…I don’t titles matter as much as why&&how much you enjoy what you do:)

And are any of you guys applying to MIT??Just curious

True I suppose
Yup, I’m going for MIT too :)

Yay!! A friend of true sorts:)

It is actually one of my top choices (well choice if it becomes a choice) haha!!
Plus, I’d love to get that MIT Tube! So much cooler than the letters etc that other unis send
I’ve read tons of things about the pranks and life there! Apart from some things here and there, all in all it sounds amazing!

I can’t wait for any of my decisions!!!:). I feel I applied only to reaches…and any acceptance would really be cake(preferably with MIT/Dartmouth/Stanford/UCB as the icing on the cake:))

The only ones that aren’t major reaches I feel are Duke Rice and Stevens… everything else is definitely a reach for me :/

@ Raith - Only if your word was true!! :P

Well, except Drexel all others are reaches for me!! So I get into one & I’m happy!!
And essay titles don’t really matter as much as the content does!! The title is just to grab the attention of the reader!!
And I think sister as a role model is a good choice too, cause most people either choose their dad/mum or a celebrity!!

@Quiver -Woah!! Brilliant!!
But was that question to all of us?? :O

And you’ve already been accepted to UIUC which is a GREAT college so you have something in hand!! No worries for you!! :)

@Sunny - Night drive to Spain sounds pretty exciting!! :D

@Rishav
“I only speak the truth” <- Moulin Rouge xP another favourite movie :)

Thanks, I still think it has been over done (I’d imagine a lot of people would have chosen a sibling for it). Thanks for the reassurance though

Oh and I have tried audacity before - didn’t help much when I did have it I might try again… by we will see (still too late to submit a supplement)

mine was a pun…on the two meanings of omnibus (anyone know about them?). It was under “Topic of your choice”.
I’ll post my EC essay as soon as someone else does :P

Here is my EC essay :S
Kite surfing is such a unique sport; it allows you to be flung several feet into the air and to land ever so gently on the water’s surface. You control the wind to be pulled across the ocean, and learn to respect and read the waves to give you the best and most thrilling rides possible. You can experience the perfect balance of sensations; the wind brushing past your body as you speed along, the cool splashes of the water and the warm heat of the sun beating down on you. The best part is riding along a breaking wave and using the wave to give you an amazing five metre jump to do whatever you would like to; look at the beautiful view for a few seconds or do some rolls or turns. One of the best adrenaline rushes ever! Of course though, kite surfing can be extremely dangerous if you aren’t careful. It is easy to be lifted up off the water and thrown onto the beach or rocks during strong gusts, or even injuring other kite surfers if you aren’t careful enough.

Rishav - Thanks :D

Sunny - I think that 500 words was not enough for me to put forth all that i had intended to write :O

Seeing people with EA/Rolling acceptances is worrying me even more
I mean I feel like i’ll end up without an acceptance, come March/April :/

Didn’t use essay titles - takes away from my word count hah!

@guyinblue don’t worry everything will work out !

MOULIN ROOUUGE

@Blue
You aren’t the only one I am sitting here just thinking… what if they all say no! hahaha! Stevens should say yes at the very least though… I hope… maybe… ;)

@KD
Also didn’t use titles (just wrote in the header the choice)
Also love Moulin Rouge I am guessing? :D

@keya93
Do you mean omnibus as a stylistic device and omnibus as a bus? That makes me curious, what did you write in your essay? :)

@Raith
Now I want to try kite surfing it sounds really fantastic! ;)

@guyinblue
Really? In the beginning I was over 500 words but then I cut out needless adjectives and sentences. Sure, one or two sentences more wouldn’t hurt but I got by with the word limit.

LOL I didnt write titles either :p

Man Im so worried I swear. Keep checking my email all the time hahaa. :p

@Sunny
Haha, you really should so much fun
I only knew of omnibus in terms of movies/episodes :P

@Blue - Haha!! My email’s open 24x7!!
And almost everyone on this thread fears that they’ll be rejected everywhere!! But @Everyone - After chatting with all you guys, it’d be a shame if none of the universities accept you!! :D

@Keya - Doesn’t omnibus mean a bus/wagon but in kinda old english??

@Raith - Nice!!
If you write like that, a title won’t matter!! They’ll love it just the same!! :)

This is my EC essay, others please post yours’ too!! :D

Two years ago, I didnt know what a Model United Nations or MUN was. Today MUNs are my passion. During my first MUN at school, I realized that it is more than just a competition. It is a constructive debate where young minds brainstorm solutions to the issues plaguing todays world. MUNs have developed in me confidence, critical thinking, leadership skills, researching abilities and a deeper understanding of the world. They give me the opportunity to express and defend my opinions, engage in intellectual arguments and hone my diplomacy skills. But most importantly I have realized that more than classroom education, real life experiences such as these are what we actually learn from. Be it discussing the Arab spring refugee crisis in the UNHCR at Harvard MUN India or moderating a debate on reserve currencies in the ECOSOC at the All India Cottons MUN (COMUN), I have enjoyed every second of my limited MUN experiences and hope to continue this passion of mine in the future.

I’d love to hear reviews!! :D

@Raith, hope this helps you understand what MUNs are!! :p

@Raith
I didn’t know you use omnibus for movies
I really have to. Some people in Germany do snow kiten, have you tried that? Looks amazing too :)
