Welcome Blaze! What do you ultimately want to do with your major after university?

@Quiver and @Lemming
I like that my universities release their results throughout March, gives me continuous excitement/disappointment xP But I kinda enjoy the wait in the sense of keeping some excitement there are what might be…

@Himanshu
Dude, I just don’t have any words for all these emotions!! xP haha not really, but I am starting to feel a little nervous since that CalTech decision…

@Himanshu - Yes, I applied to NUS. Problem is - I am so not going to get 96%+ in the boards!! Haha!! And all that NUS cares for is marks+Olympiad medals!! :p

@quiver, raith - UChicago does not have an engineering program. It has a computer science major though!!

I didn’t get keychains, notepads, etc from anybody!!
Only Columbia sent me a brochure. Couple of Canadian universities also sent me brochures.

@Rishav
Yea, and their science department is brilliant! :D

@rishav, I applied too! at my current state, I do hope to get 95% + in boards, (I have computers and math left, two of my stronger subjects), but I don’t think I’ll get 96 because I kinda screwed up Physics. Still, I’m hoping my math competition medals and SAT I and II scores save me there, although I don’t really wanna study anywhere other than the US. Still let’s see :P

And I did get a couple of brochures from columbia and upenn, and a few others, but no keychains and goodies! :P

Any of you thinking of doing a dual degree? Like engineering and finance or economics and perhaps going to business school later? Any thoughts on that?

Hi5 bro! Btw, are you looking for a dual degree at the undergrad level or an MBA later on, or both (like me :P)?

MBA later on. I want to work on a strong foundation in STEM first…I have plans ;)

I am considering doing my master’s, but right now I am planning on maybe doing two majors or a major and as many minors/certificates as possible that I enjoy

But I’d probably collect degrees throuhout my life :P

I’m more with Raith on this!! Two majors in college or a major and as many certificate/minors as possible!!

If I get into Northwestern - I’ll try completing the undergrad+masters in 4 years!!
They allow you to do that!! haha!! :)

Dartmouth though has a 5yr undergrad engineering course. So I’ll have to rush to do just that in 4 years!!

I am soo bored these days.:(

@Rishav
Steven’s is also offering me the Bacherlors+MBA in 4 years! good last resort hey? :P

I think changing it to 4 years shouldn’t be too difficult :)

I just want to extract as much as I can from my undergrad education with two degrees and possible minors, although the cost will rise substantially. Later I’ll do an MBA and go back to school to do executive courses periodically, but I’m not gonna go in for a PhD and I’m not inclined towards an MS either.

@rishav, I think a better option at northwestern would be the co-op program where you work at companies full time (not internships) for the lat 2 years of your degree. Makes you a lot more competitive.

Hey guys…I just tried some AIME 12B for 2012 and got 11/15 right…I remember seeing thing on my app somewhere???Anyone care to explain…

(PS : I know its some math competition)

@quiver - Link to the test??

Wikipedia it. You’ll get to know!! :p

I saw the aime sample problems too, not too tough, kinda like iitjee level. By the way, anyone here giving the jee mains?

It’s like the Olympiads in India, like NTSE, NTSC, NSTSE etc.

Play I just heard the most astonishing news from my mom. One of her best friends was on the admissions committee of UPenn last year! But he isn’t on it this year, still he’s asked for my details, although he said there’s not much he can do now except check my admission status. :/
